Stream Experiments
Stream Experiments are ways to probe a system to discover emergent practices that would shorten cycle-time and lead-time by strategically eliminating impediments. Experiments are framed as a hypothesis that tests a predicted outcome.
The best experiments are the ones that:
- Have a falsifiable hypothesis.
- Have an objective, measurable and testable outcomes.
- It can be correlated to an improvement in lead-time, cycle-time, or a system-wide value.
- Are time-boxed, and the results are inspected every Sprint.
- Are controlled, where one variable is tested at a time.
During the experiment or at its conclusion, the Stream Owner examines the expected outcomes and decides on the next steps.
